Agreed! It was a stunning piece of light hearted art but also highly critical of cultural monopoly in between the lines.
i fell in love with tehran an unfinished history. will it be screened again anywhere in vienna?

Tehran, an Unfinished History perfectly described the two sided sword called freedom without systematic oppression. Once it’s taken for granted you can end up in a regime, as it is nowadays the case in Iran. Thank you for 5 great festival days in a row, I feel inspired until next year’s follow up.
Great photos! They truly catch the atmo of West Asian Film Festival. I was deeply moved by the film festival movies, almost all of them were deep and inspiring. I attended all festival days. I personally count as diaspora from Iraq. I recommend looking into the underground moviemakers scene there too. Something similar as in Tunesia / Morocco happened there and youth scenes are overruling tribalism.

Divine Comedy was my festival highlight! Second: We Never Left, many huggs to Loulwa Khoury who was the director of the movie and also present throughout the festival.
